Admiral Mullen's speech was mainly bureaucratic pablum about budget cutting and teamwork, but contains the hint of a solution: since the debt is the most serious threat to the nation, then every effort to eliminate that threat should be considered with military precision. It can't be done simply by counting paperclips at the Pentagon.
It is not the debt itself which poses the real threat, but rather those who have the power to create the debt and who profit from the exponential compounding of interest. As long as that mechanism for parasitical wealth transfer remains unchecked, the threat remains.
For more than a century, the nation's political process has been gradually corrupted, consolidated and rendered ineffective as a defense. Like a captured fortress, it has fallen into the hands of the enemy.
If the battle against the bondage of the nation is to be fought and won, then what are the strategic options?
